According to Zillow, large amounts of buyers consider the risks of flooding (55%), tornadoes (41%), hurricanes (35%) and earthquakes (29%) when choosing a home. These events are believed by some to be getting worse due to climate change, and Zillow found that two-thirds of young adults believe climate change will affect their homes or communities in their lifetime. Arizona homeowners face few of these natural hazards. As a result, Arizona is a good choice for those who want to avoid the adverse effects of severe weather events and other natural disasters.
