The most popular counter top material U.S. remodelers say they’re using is quartz, followed by granite. In 2015, 89% of National Kitchen and Bath Association members said they used quartz in their kitchen remodeling projects. Obviously that means the popularity of granite has been declining. The ability to make quartz resemble marble and its abundant color variations is winning over more fans. Plus its durability – it’s more resistant to heat and scratches, is making it an appealing option. However there are regional style differences, and here in the metro Phoenix area granite still appears to be more popular than quartz.
