Prior to the pandemic, house hunters were focused on amenities. Since COVID-19, house hunters are now showing more interest in more space and its configuration. Research by the National Association of Realtors shows that the top feature desired by buyers is a home office. Many households may need more than one. And outdoor space has become more important, with increasing desire for a pool, garden, and enough space to enjoy the outdoors. A survey from Point2Homes, which analyzed more than 1,600 home searches at its site, showed similar results. Square footage, living space, floor plan and their ability to be used for home office use were current priorities.
