People have always left Los Angeles for Phoenix for a variety of reasons. The unfavorable economy and housing market in the LA area has accelerated that trend. Rising mortgage rates, high home prices, inflation and economic concerns are making southern California out of reach for some buyers. Even though home prices have risen significantly in the Phoenix metro area, we are still more affordable than Los Angeles. And factors like lower commute times and favorable employment prospects also spur homebuyers to relocate to the Valley of the Sun. The latest factor contributing to the exodus is the ability to work remotely, which permits people in high-cost areas all over the U.S. to move to less expensive areas like Phoenix.
