If your home is in an HOA and you rent, the association can ask for certain information about your tenants. It is limited to the name and contact information of all adults occupying an unit, the term of the lease, and the license plate numbers of the tenant vehicles. It can also charge up to $25 as an administrative fee for each new tenant. No other information can be demanded, such as a copy of the tenant’s credit report, rental application, the lease or any other personal information about the renter. If you are on an HOA board, the info you can legally collect makes it easier to deal with a home with renters.
