Phoenix recently allocated money to encourage you replace your lawn. The Grass Removal Program pays $2 per square foot of grass removed. Unlike similar city programs (detailed previously in Get Paid to Remove Your Grass), you are paid in cash and not by a credit to your utility bill. Also different from previous rebates is that I could find no explicit exclusion for the use of artificial turf as a replacement. Requirements include that a minimum of 250 square feet of grass must be removed and bare soil either before or after grass removal is prohibited. That means the existing grass must be alive and healthy at a minimum of 75% density of the area to be removed. Before and after pictures and various documents are required. Don’t wait, as the funds available for the Grass Removal Program are limited.
