Extra cabinet storage for tucking away linens and other items are also needed by many households, especially those in older homes. 5. Accessory Dwelling Units. Some homeowners are looking for designs that accommodate a multi-generational household. Attached or detached accessory dwelling units or ADUs, are an ideal setup for housing grandparents, children, or family members with special needs. 6. Add a Cloffice. Some homeowners who found themselves suddenly working from home without a home office setup. One solution is to convert an unused closet to create a workspace, or a “Cloffice”. It involves adding outlets and internet access, creating a work surface and places to store work related items.
