StorageCafe.com analyzed the country’s 100 biggest cities to identify the best places for pools. The study used a combined index to measure the “pool access” potential for buyers and renters. The index ranks the share of houses for sale and apartments for rent with access to pools, and the costs of buying or renting a home with a pool. Valley of the Sun cities are a veritable paradise for pool lovers, with 4 of them ranking among the top 20 best cities for pools. Besides Chandler ranking no. 1, Gilbert is 4, Mesa is 6, Scottsdale is 7, Glendale is 19, and Phoenix is number 20. Scottsdale is the Phoenix metro area community with the most homes on the market featuring a pool at 70%. Arizona as a whole bests both California and Florida in terms of offering easy access to pools, as most apartment communities come with resort-style pools and most homes for sale have a pool.
