There are over 18.2 million veterans currently living in the U.S. To help military veterans find the best places in which to settle down, WalletHub compared the 100 largest U.S. cities using 19 indicators of livability, affordability and veteran-friendliness. The criteria included the share of military skill-related jobs, veteran income growth and the availability of VA health facilities. The metro Phoenix area has three cities in the top 15 with Scottsdale number 6, Gilbert number 8 and Chandler in 11th place. Arizona has traditionally had a large group of ex-military due to our air force bases and retirement friendliness.
