In a recent Iowa case the buyers found 2 large bull snakes in their new home on moving day – one on top of the downstairs bar (perhaps waiting for happy hour?) In the next year the buyers found up to 22 bull snakes in their home, including one that fell out of the ceiling onto the head of one of the buyers! They also found 40 snake skins in the walls and ceiling. When the buyers sued for non-disclosure, the sellers said there had been a prior infestation problem – but it was 14 years ago. In the end the Court found that the snakes were a material fact and the sellers should have disclosed the slithery trespassers. Next: The Marooned Terrier.
