1. Keep it cool.  It’s not the time to penny-pinch on the air conditioning. Experts – obviously based on the east coast, recommend keeping the thermostat around 72 degrees.  Here in the desert I think 78 – 80 is fine.
2. Watch the smell.  Always control smells, and remember that warm weather can cause odors in the home to become even stronger.
3. Maintain the landscaping.  Curb appeal is important, so don’t turn down the irrigation and let the lawn go brown or the plants die. And if the heat kills a plant, replace it.
4. Keep it clean. Don’t forget the windows – clean them both the inside and out.
