1. Keep it cool. It’s not the time to penny-pinch on the air conditioning. Experts – obviously based on the east coast, recommend keeping the thermostat around 72 degrees. Here in the desert, higher is fine but don’t exceed 80.
2. Watch the smell. Warm weather can cause odors in or outside the home to become even stronger. Take the trash out and clean cat pans frequently, and use air fresheners if necessary.
3. Maintain the landscaping. Curb appeal is important, so don’t turn down the irrigation and let the lawn go brown or the plants die. And if the heat kills a plant, replace it.
